Is playing Khuru and Archery only reserved for men in Bhutan?

A forum on Gross National Happiness

The Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy
invites you to a forum on
Gross National Happiness
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011
WWF Conference Hall ( Below Ministry of Health)
1:30pm -5:00 pm

The Civil Society Organisations of Bhutan play a major role in the development of this country and their work encompasses all the pillars of GNH from youth to environment, socio-economic development to governance and media.
CSOs have been been instinctively driven by the philosophy of GNH in Bhutan but the members of the CSO fraternity continue to learn GNH and some are grappling with the difficulty of correlating GNH thinking with the activities they undertake. So join us to discuss GNH in the light of new findings.

  • What is true GNH?
  • Are CSOs the flag bearers of GNH?
  • What is the scope for partnership between CSOs and the vision outlined in our Constitution?
  • Is promotion of GNH only government’s task?
  • What can we learn from the latest studies on GNH and the government's policy screening tools?

Presentations and discussions will be made by:

  • Dasho Karma Ura, President, Centre for Bhutan Studies
  • Dasho Karma Tshetrim, Secretary, Gross National Happiness Commission

Registration begins at 1:15 pm (Refreshments will be served during the registration)
